BRIEF PROFILE OF CHIEF TONY OFFIAH (AKAJIUGO OF UGA)
Chief Hon. Tony Offiah (Akunne) was born in Enugu to the family of Late Mr. Killian & Mrs. Benedeth Offiah of Ezihe Kindred, Umueze village Uga, Aguata L.G.A. Anambra State.
Chief Tony Offiah started his formative education at St. Patrick primary school, Ogbete Enugu from where he proceeded to Uga Boys Secondary school (UBSS), Uga. He thereafter proceeded to the federal polytechnic Oko where he read and obtained an HND in Mass Communication.
Early manifestations of his political ambitions where to be laid at the federal polytechnic Oko where he contested and won the position of the President of the students Unim 1989/1890 session.
Cognizant of the need to further equip himself for the challenges of the future, Chief Tony proceeded to the U.S.A. where he obtained a SA (Hons) communications, from the university of central Oklahoma, Edmond Oklahoma, U.S.A, master degree in public administration (MPA) from the university of Oklahoma, Norman and also obtained an Associate Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology from Oklahoma State university, stillwater, Oklahoma, U.S.A.
Having built a great repository of knowledge and experience, Chief Tony heeded the clarion call to come back home and contribute his quota to the socio-economic and political development of the country. Upon his return to Nigeria, Chief Tony Offiah founded and established among others; Yankari Bottling Company Limited, Haiffo Ventures Limited, Chester Fries Limited.
Chief Tony Offiah has in his employment over 321 direct employees and over 500 indirect employees trained, nurtured and groomed for the work. A good numbers of these employees are Uga and Aguata indigenes working in various locations in Nigeria.
Realizing that the essence of life is the extent to which your life impacts on the lives of others, Chief Tony Offiah established the Tony Offiah Foundation – a non-profit charitable organization geared towards empowerment.
